The pre-school was founded in 1966 by two ladies (Mollie Burton and Rosemary Jones) after recognising that there was little opportunity for young children to play and learn together in Findon Valley. It is situated in the church hall and the activities revolve around various ‘workshop’ areas. Children are encouraged to select resources independently, learn to use them and look after them appropriately and help to tidy away. Each session comprises a mixture of self-chosen activities (free play) such as role play, small world play or drawing, structured adult-led activities such as crafts, assault course, dancing or games, stories, songs, and circle times when children learn to sit and listen and speak in front of a group. Our activities are generally based on children’s interests and needs.
A warm and welcoming Ofsted registered pre-school for children aged 23/4 to 5 yrs. A high child/adult ratio is maintained with highly qualified and experienced staff.
Sessions: Monday-Friday, 9.00am-12 noon, term-time only.
